Kohler (WI) – AUGUST 26, 2004.
A Blue Ribbon Panel selected Randy Thelen and Thelen Total Construction of Elkhorn as Winner of the 2004 BuildersEdge Award. Statewide, twenty seven were nominated; six were chosen.
Joe Simon, President of Simon Insurance & Investments launched the idea of the BuildersEdge Award two years ago. He wanted to do something similar to the JD Power Awards for the building industry.

Explained Joe Simon, “Our goal was to recognize the people and businesses on the leading edge of the industry. What I like about the building industry is that people are smart AND optimistic. They’re builders; they’re hard workers; they get behind great projects and great ideas and see them succeed.

Hallmarks of a BuildersEdge Award Winner are:

  1. Community involvement.
  2. Extraordinary efforts to enhance employee education, skill training and benefits.
  3. Ongoing commitment to the industry.

Said Randy Thelen, “I’m very honored to receive this award. To be recognized for past achievements such Lakeland Builders Association charter member and past president, as well as current involvement and support in the community and building industry. We firmly believe in investing in the education of our employees. Through their development and experience, the company has become one of the most respected custom home design / build in the area.”
