Taking a recent tour of our 2013 Parade Home under construction on Lauderdale Lakes made me think about the many homes we built here. Over the years we built more than 30 homes around Lauderdale Lakes. I passed a few on my way to this home and it made me think about why this is such a special place to build a home.
Lauderdale Lakes is actually three spring fed lakes – Green Lake, Middle Lake and Mill Lake connected by two wide channels with a total of 840 acres. That creates a lot of shoreland, and plenty of places to meander in your choice of vessel: fishing boat, speed boat, pontoon, sailboat, canoe or kayak. It’s a friendly, family orientated lake with a variety of clubs: The Sailing Club, The Yacht Club and the Water Ski Club. In addition, there is a scenic and affordable 9 hole golf course owned by the Lauderdale Lakes Management District. Lauderdale Lakes Marina offers new and used boats for sale, as well as service, boating supplies and gas. Lauderdale Landing, on Middle Lake is a great gathering spot for food and drinks.
Want to explore the bike, hike and ski trails of the Kettle Moraine? That’s only a few miles away north on County Road H. Visit the La Grange Country Store for information on the trails, equipment rentals and great sandwiches.
Coming here is close and convenient – about a 30 minute trip over the Illinois / Wisconsin border. It’s also close and convenient to the Lake Geneva, Milwaukee and Madison area.
In almost four decades, we built more homes in the Lauderdale Lakes area than any other builder. Randy Thelen has his home on Middle Lake and we enjoy close friendships with many of our homeowners and lake residents here. It’s truly is our home base! Come see for yourself what makes Lauderdale Lakes so special by visiting our Parade Home this summer. We hope it inspires you to dream of building your own “cottage on the lake!”
